River Breamish

A quick browse around the junk-by-another-name antique shops at Hedgeley on the way back from the DIY store in Alnwick this morning. Also stopped by the bridge to look at the River Breamish (MrM has fishing on his mind, I can just tell!). After torrential rain last night - and it's still raining - there's lots of peaty water rushing down the river.

Back home to some domestic chores, before helping MrM with the living-room floor. Panic over! It seems that the ominous creaking noises were caused by wood shrinking due to heat from the nearby central heating pipes. Remedial measures carried out, and boards re-laid. The floor's almost finished...
