Saturday fun!

Our village Children’s Gala is always on the third Saturday in June and the weather is usually excellent, sometimes too hot.
It was looking really iffy for this weekend but the serious rain held off until after the parade and the first hour on the field which was better than the forecast so there were plenty of people there.

Grace, John and Eda came specially for the event and had a great time. Here Eda is busy watching the Diddy Dennis fire engine with Boppa holding her as he was on duty in his fireman’s helmet. A ticket was bought for Eda but when it came to it she wouldn’t go into the back of the truck.
She did get on the bouncy castle but it was hard for her to stand up with the older children bouncing. So Mum Grace helped her to bounce on the apron.

We had a wonderful fly past from a Lancaster bomber, blipped by several other blippers and after Chris finished his stint we made it to the tea tent. Then the serious rain came. Eda went back on the bouncy castle and had it to herself and Grace did an impromptu dance to ‘Singing in the Rain’ which compare Peter put on over the PA. We know how to have fun in Harden whatever the weather and it has been great to share it with Eda and John and revive all Grace’s childhood memories.
