Rhythm Is A Dancer

The soft light from a gray overcast sky falling on this mossy tree first attracted my attention, creating a strong contrast giving dimension to the trunk and limbs. However, whilst editing, I became more engaged with the gesture of the tree's stance and the sense of the limbs flailing about as if dancing to some hidden tune.

I had to be careful when dealing with the bright highlights and deep shadows, to retain the sense of light and shade giving the tree shape and keeping it separate from the background.

I was rather restricted in my positioning by a fence and a path, neither of which I wanted in the shot. Again hand held, it's a bit soft and may not print well.
