Rudolph.

Ooooh it was so Christmassy today! It was the perfect day for my first mince pie of this winter - with a glass of mulled wine :o)

A and I woke up to a thin blanket of snow over the countryside and icy blue skies. We got dressed and ate quickly and caught a taxi over to Crathes Castle for the Christmas Fayre. When we arrived I was straight over to see the reindeer that were being used for pulling Santa's sleigh. One of the girls I went to Uni with works with these reindeer, and although she wasn't there today, I had a wee chat with her boyfriend and got to take some pictures from in front of the barriers. I can't remember this one's name, but he was very friendly and snuffly.

We had a lovely day taking baby F to meet Santa for the first time (he looked bemused, but didn't cry), looking round the castle (we were given mince pies and mulled wine - mmmh!), and eating too much nice food in the cafe.

By the time we got home it was dark, so after baby F was fed and put to bed, A made us a quick and yummy pasta dinner and we watched Miracle on 34th Street, followed by Scrooged; a modern-day Christmas Carol. Very festive!

M arrived in America OK and doesn't seem too affected by jet-lag - he must be used to an ever-changing body clock after his days working offshore. He says Oklahoma is very different to home... The town he is staying in has no pavements (sidewalks!) and people look at him funny when he wants to walk places. Everything is a drive-thru... Even the bank! He's desperate to get out and shop in a Wal-mart, but hasn't had a chance yet. It's very different weather there too... While I was getting frost-bitten today, he was getting sunburned. Some folk have all the luck!
