Bugs And Blooms

I found this lone borage plant down the field and was kneeling to capture it when a marmalade hoverfly arrived. On the way back to the house I checked the figwort for bugs as usual. It supports two specific weevils and its foetid smell attracts wasps which pollinate it. Today a tiny solitary bee was checking it out.

Ollie dog and I went to Panshanger Park this afternoon in search of dragons but my attention was taken by a poppy field that I could see beyond the bluebell wood. I snapped a beetle taking off from one of the blooms and have added an image of the poppies taken from the wood to extras.
