Edinburgh exploration

We were blessed with fantastic weather on our last day in Edinburgh (it was lousy back home in London). Fred and I headed up Carlton Hill, then followed trails around the back of the hill to Stockbridge. We found an ace bike shop that was lovely to browse around followed by coffee out in the sunshine in Stockbridge. Still following our noses, we walked west and bumped into Wallace, the charismatic owner of the B'n'B we'd stayed at in Leith last year. We had a wee natter before heading to the Stockbridge market, where Fred found a Christmas present for me - yay! He then found a birthday present for me in the National Gallery - the giant robin was just too hard to resist. The others had a shock when I appeared at the railway station with the rotund bird, but he provided good photo opportunities for Amy on our trip back down to London.
