On The Hunt

There are few things in life that can beat a trip to the Western Isles.
We left home with the car laden with walking boots, wetsuits, unhealthy snacks, and enough alcohol to run a bar.

As we headed North, the heavens opened. I had checked the weather forecast so I knew things would improve.

We arrived in Mallaig in balmy dry conditions and set sail for Lochboisdale.
The sea was perfect and a beautiful light highlighted Eigg, Rum and Canna. Many photos were taken, quite a few Blipworthy.

However, around halfway on the journey, multiple pods of dolphins appeared, obviously in full hunting mode. The spectacle lasted for 20 minutes or so and kept the top deck enthralled.

We arrived in Lochboisdale in drizzly mist and headed straight to the ceilidh.
A late night ensued.

This is a meant to be a restful break.
So, instead of a calm West Highland seascape I took a photo of my camera screen to share the majesty of these amazing creatures.
