On The Road

Preparing for the final day of the trip because it's time to come home. Over three weeks away and an amazing tour through Europe. Waking in Obernai we bought baguettes and quiche to bring home. A coach load of South Koreans was disgorged in the square whereupon they hurried round taking selfies on every corner. All the evidence of last night's street party had been cleared away. The easy riders were packing up too.

Approaching Calais we were able to get the Cricket World cup on the radio. An earlier than scheduled tunnel crossing was a bonus and then it was the Federer- Djokovic final. Flicking between the two we were home in time for the last set of the tennis. What a finish. At the end it was a switch over to the cricket. What was going on? Super over – what’s that? Another tie break. Two match finishes that you couldn’t have made up.

And Hamilton won at Silverstone. Apparently that was a thriller too . And the French still have one of their own in the maillot jaune. A memorable Bastille Day.
