On his knees

A day at the Tatton Flower Show. We had a really good time.

I always find it difficult to photograph. So much creativity and colour, which does not really come across in a 2D image.

We always love the school gardens. This year’s theme is bugs. Each school picked an envelope, and had to work with that bug. Their ideas were presented to the RHS at a day event at The Whitworth in Manchester, and then off they went with growing plants and then finally putting it all together. An example is in the extras - Aphids. Great that schools have garden clubs, and that the kids really enjoy planting and putting these little show gardens together.

Fascinating watching the BBC Gardeners World presenters being filmed. Each sequence is a lot of work. In the blip Adam Frost on his knees waiting for five others to sort themselves out. In the extra Jo Whiley in the Dianne Oxbury Sunshine Garden - Dianne presented from The Tatton Show for over 20 years before she died too young last year. A nice garden which will be transplanted to a hospice on the Wirral after the Show.
