Branch Line

Our journey to St Ives a couple of days ago involved a change of trains at St Erth (the last stop before Penzance) to catch the shuttle on the St Ives branch line.  This is a busy little service which runs every half hour in each direction during the day - so four trains an hour passing any particular point.  This gave me several opportunities to photograph it as we walked along the coastal path today from St Ives to Carbis Bay and beyond.

Yesterday's rain has gone, and it has been a lovely, warm, sunny day.  As we walked along the coast, we were trying to identify the hotel where we stayed 20 years ago next month - we were here to try and watch the total solar eclipse (which, in the end, was totally hidden by heavy cloud).  Although we knew roughly where the hotel should have been, we think it may have been replaced by modern residential apartments.

We were tired by the end of the day and so stayed in the hotel to eat.

Once again a back-blip because of the lack of decent internet here.
