Olympus Trip 35.

Now something of a classic, with some websites dedicated to it (e.g. Trip Man). The second of two old film cameras my parents had lying around. This feels much more of a quality item than the Canon, and if it works okay, I'll have a play about with it - put a film through it, once or twice a year.

Had some initial problems with the film that had been left in it. The counter said about six shots had been taken, but it wouldn't take a picture. Nor would it wind forward or back. Eventually had to pop it open, and risk losing the shots taken. Turned out that the film hadn't been loaded correctly, and was unused. The film speed was also incorrectly set... which leads me to suspect only one family member! Once correctly loaded and set up, it seemed to work okay. We'll find out later!

The Canon didn't seem to work, and is destined for a charity shop. Unlike the Olympus, I did manage to rewind its film before removing it. Will have to try and recover the film leader, in order to use up the unexposed part (the majority) of the film.

Collection of 2012 Blips in a single album, here.

(Edit: Several years later... it does work, and some proof on t'other journal.)
