Carpenter Bees

Wendy keeps a very fine perennial garden in her house at Homps; not bad at all given the climate. There are of course thousands of minibeasts making good use of it and I very much enjoy seeing the stuff you don't get to see much in Gloucestershire...

Carpenter bees are delightful big, black and blue giants that drone with a low thrumm as they sip from the flowers. There are also hummingbird moths, big paper wasps and all sorts of grasshoppers. No, I didn't bring the macro lens this time so it's the telephoto and stepping back so get focus.

Another backblip. Number seven I think. All tagged with #incredibacks19
