Prairie Light

Warm light streaking through a gap in the trees illuminating a patch of ox-eye and brown-eyed susans. I've tried many times to take photos of flowers en-masse and catch the dramatic bloc of colour that overwhelms the visual senses with saturation. I'm not sure I have been any more successful here, but I do like the combination of light and shadow in this shot.

Yellow is obviously the dominant hue in the meadow at this time, with the odd smattering of purples and magentas from the coneflowers and bee balm. It has been interesting watching the progression over the weeks as the summer develops.
