Enjoying the sunshine

These days Xena sleeps right through the night until I wake her up at about 8.30am. Lazy girl! After I fed her breakfast we went into the garden and as it felt a little cool at that time of the morning we sat on this bench in the sunshine warming up. She was intrigued by my shadow as I was moving around in front of her to take this photo. She got very sleepy in the sunshine and then had a good stretch (see extra) before going inside. 

It has been a full house today as Meriel is now with us, and Thomas' friend came around for the afternoon. the two of them went off to ask about jobs at local cafes but they were not successful. Thomas would like to get a job until he starts university at the beginning of October but not many cafes/restaurants are interested in short term employment. Gavin left for LA this morning but he will be back on Friday.

Adam was very relieved to leave Cuba and is now back in civilisation in Miami. He says Cuba is a perfect example of why communism does not work! He liked Trinidad but did not like Havana, he said they had a problem finding food or water to drink - the supermarket shelves were always empty and there was no consistency in pricing. They also often felt scammed. I have always wanted to go there but from his description it sounds awful so it is off my list!
