26082019 La Vuelta

Today we drove to Biar to watch La Vuelta de España on the road side. We've been hiking in Biar so we knew the surroundings and where to get the car parked, so we chose it for our spot. We also knew how pretty the castle is.

They close the roads before the cyclist drive by and you never really know how much before, so we were at the roadside walking about 2 hours before. But it was fun. So much people picnicking and enjoying themselves.

And they drove just by us. Like a meter away.

My husband's dream was to get a water bottle that a cyclist threw away. I fist saw one about 30 meters away but a couple was closer and they got to it. Then I saw another one and we got that! So that was the icing on the cake for today.

So a fun day before the storm arrives around midnight. I need to go to bed early as I can never sleep in a storm. We have orange alert again for the storm and rain. It's now Gota Fria time or DANA (depresión aislada en niveles altos). So most likely if it rains, it comes like someone is pouring is from a big bucket in the sky. We'll see. Regarding La Vuelta's tomorrow's  leg it could be very dangerous. They might have to shorten the leg because of the rain or cancel the whole leg. We'll see. Hoping they can race normally and the storm will pass them somehow.
