Salt of the Earth

Time for an excursion today. Some went to the salt museum we went to last year; others for a walk in the forest; then we all met up at the San Remo Gelateria in Buarcos for ice-cream cones.

Extras of some of the colleagues walking across some of the unused salt pans, and the flamingos in one of the ones with deeper water. And here is the sluice on Mike's blip.

Gratefuls:
- the enthusiastic woman who told us so much about the importance of salt in the history of Portugal, for example, that they used it to pay for the cannons they used to oust the Spanish
- a misunderstanding quickly cleared up
- seeing our kids and grandkids all together (on FT)
