Bus Challenge No 172!

The Kennet and Avon Canal, Limpley Stoke, nr Bath

A bus into Bath to meet my BC friend, then a second bus east to Limpley Stoke, to join the Kennet and Avon Canal for a four mile walk to Bradford on Avon.

And what a beautiful day it was for a tranquil walk along the tow path, not a cloud in the sky. After a chilly start, the temperature rose to 19 degrees but it felt much warmer, as my sunburnt nose will testify!

Half way along our route we came to the Avoncliff Aqueduct where we stopped at the canal-side pub for a sneaky cider and sarnie in the sun, bliss. Then, before catching the bus home from Bradford on Avon, we called into the Canal Trust cafe. Unlike my BC friend, I managed to resist those enormous clotted cream scones (see extra in link), but a salted caramel ice cream may have got the better of me!

Total bus journey home = 2 hours 8 mins
Waiting between buses time = 34 mins
Total journey time = 2 hours 42 mins
