Vintage

We had a wild and wet night with storm Humberto passing through. It rained much of the morning too, so by late morning I decided to watch a movie in the ‘Siloflix’ cinema on the campsite (see top right photo in yesterday’s collage). They have a big collection of DVDs to play, an excellent quality TV and 2 rows of vintage cinema seats. Not the most comfortable compared to cinemas these days (or my own sofa) but I very much enjoyed a couple of hours of watching the 2006 film ‘Miss Potter’.

By the time the movie was done, the sun was out and we could even see blue sky! Another of the campers and I decided to go ride on the Isle of Wight steam train. The back and forth journey took about an hour to go through 3 stations. We even got upgraded to a First Class carriage! We later discovered that the guard was also the owner of an Alphard campervan, also converted by Northstar here on the island, so we had a lengthy chat with him and his wife at the end of our outing.

This evening at the campsite was BBQ night. And wouldn’t you know it - Humberto decided to attack again just as we started cooking, so it was another wet and windy dinner party as we tried to avoid getting totally soaked! This gathering will definitely go down in memory!
