Sir Isaac Brock

This morning the parish celebrated Sir Isaac Brock; maybe our greatest son. Brock was killed in action at the Battle of Queenston Heights in 1812 when he saved Canada for the Empire.
We should celebrate our famous sons more. Brock’s Monument in Queenston Heights is atop a 185 foot column. We have this little plaque above the door of Boots! This is where Brock lived and would have been a very grand house back then though.
The Boys Brigade band played before and after a short re-enactment of the events leading to Brock’s death.
Today was the anniversary of his birth and next week on the anniversary of his death there will be a wreath laying ceremony.
