An ordinary life....

When the cat's away...

I have pastel play :-))

David was up and off just after 4am.  I never heard a thing.  First message  from him was to say he was on board his flight, next one once he'd landed. Of course I knew he'd landed as I'd tracked his flight on Flight Tracker.  Amazing to click on and see he's flying over Nantes!

Today has been a perfectly relaxed day.

Lazy morning. With no one to consider apart from myself, I feel as though I'm on holiday too.

Downstairs early, morning coffee listening to Pop Master on Radio 2 (scored 24 first round, 18 the second.  Not bad :-) and some birthday cards and a silver wedding anniversary card made before lunch.

Alan and Jordan headed out on a magical mystery tour and after lunch I finally had the chance to have a play with my new pastels:-))

Oh my, they are an absolute delight to use but sooooooooo messy!  lol  Tried my best to contain the dust but gave up in the end.  This little sketch is only 6" square but my face, hands, forearms, table, and floor were testament to the colours used.  I have plans for a bigger piece but lesson learned, newspaper will be laid down and I will wear a rubber glove to blend the colours.

I wish I had taken a shot before I sprayed it with fixative as the colours were lighter and more vibrant.  I just gave it a light spray, which has darkened it.  I thought it would lighten up again once it dried but it hasn't.  It will make me reluctant to use the spray next time, but that leaves the world vulnerable.  Hmmmmm.....some research needed methinks.

Was editing some holiday photos at 6pm when my attention was drawn outside as the rain was suddenly thundering down!  It rained so hard and for so long it actually made me have a wander round the house in fear of leaks (the joys of living in a house that's almost 120 years old! :-) but so far all good.

Dinner for one followed by some tv, reading, and now a cuppa and a blip catch up.  Bliss :-)))
