Taunton Day 2

Colin caught the train up from Dawlish and we met him on the bridge near the centre of town.

We felt we ought to start the day with a drink so retired to the Somerset Museum in the castle and had a drink in the cafe.

On leaving there we walked over to Vivary Park, a large area of Victorian lawn and gardens. The weather was still nice and we had a good walk and I took photos.

Lunch was at Bills then back to the museum to do it properly this time.  The museum is very good, very modern, showing the history of Somerset from ancient times.

After another drink in their cafe we finished the day with a walk over to The Brewhouse Theatre by the river.

We walked back home, dropping Colin off at the station, by which time the rain was more persistent.

Tea tonight was in the pub attached to the Premier Inn..

The picture, taken in Vivary Park, shows the fountain and in the background the Jellalabad Barracks.
