Elie Beach

More horrendous rain overnight and it was still raining this morning. I packed up while the boys watched the rugby.  We couldn’t leave the holiday house until the game had finished, which was a bit later than we should have been out!  As the rain had gone off, we went for a  last wander around Crail, picking up a few provisions, before heading along the coast to Anstruther.  Another wander around.  The Dreel Burn was in spate.  There was no chance of getting over the stepping stones.  TT still had his mind on fish and chips and suggested the Anstruther fish bar for lunch.  I wasn’t all that keen, but having never been, and knowing that everyone raves about it, it was my opportunity to try it out.  It was fine, but we three all agreed that the Crail fish and chips was better.

Our next stop was Elie, where they were playing polo on the beach (extra).  Just a normal Scottish seaside past time!!  We had a lovely walk along the beach and back and the weather was brightening all the time.  It was then time to drive home to sunny East Lothian.  Thankfully no one was terribly hungry, so made do with Anstruther oatcakes and cheese. TT and I finished The Bridge and started watching Spiral again.
