Nicky and her Nikon

A gaggle of gingers!

I was hoping for an extra lie in today with the clocks going back, but no, my body clock had me awake at the usual time which was actually an hour earlier with the clocks changing. Xena slept right through for that extra hour!

After breakfast Gavin and Luke started watching the rugby match, but then Gavin and I took Xena for a walk. It was chilly this morning, as it was sunny with clear skies. We got home to find that SA were ahead and they went on to beat Wales and have now made it to the final. A final of England vs SA - very exciting! Everyone asks me who we support, and yes we support England as we have lived here for so long now that we are out of touch with the SA teams. Our boys and their friends support England and even have a friend who plays rugby for England (but was not selected this for this world cup). Gavin and Luke feel that it will be a better game for England against SA rather than against Wales.

We had a tasty lunch - butternut soup followed by something I have not made before, a moqueca which is a Brazilian fish stew. It was delicious and I will make it again.

After lunch we had a dog walk with Xena's siblings and her mum. The family who have her sister and half brother (from the previous litter) were looking after Xena's mum and her other sister as the breeder had to go away to a funeral, so there were five ginger nutters running around on the walk. It was hilarious, but they were all good and did not run off and we managed to control all of them. Here is a group shot - it was impossible to get all five dogs posing nicely but this was the best we could do. Xena is the one being held by Luke and Gavin is holding Elsa her mum. The big boy on the right is her half brother.

Luke and Meriel have now gone back to London. It was lovely to see them again and to have them staying over.
