Nicky and her Nikon

A chilly autumn day

There was a touch of frost this morning and it was chilly. I took Xena for a walk in the woods and wondered if I should consider buying her a winter coat, as so many Vizslas wear them as they do not have an insulating undercoat like other dogs. She did not seem to notice the cold but I will see how she goes as winter progresses. The sunshine and blue skies were lovely today.

The autumn colours were looking better today, but I still don't think they are as good as in previous years. I think the warm September and wet and mild October have prevented the colours from being at their best. I have added an extra..where is Wally Xena?

Luke is currently on study leave from work. Usually to qualify as an accountant their exams are spread over at least 2 years of the 3 year traineeship but he has had all his exams crammed into 2 months, with only 1 more set in a year's time. So as he finished a set of exams last week, he took a day off today from studying for the next set, and he and a friend came home for the day. They went and played golf and then we had lunch together and I have just dropped them off at the station to go back home to London.

Poor Adam has a herniated lumbar disc (happened at his last rugby training session) so he is in much pain at the moment. We plan to go visit him and Thomas in Cambridge next weekend.
