Bicyclist on the Lower Trail

It was a beautiful, sunny Saturday in early November, and my husband and I decided to go on a drive and take a few short hikes. Our first stop was Burger King in Tyrone for some mini burgers and fries for an early lunch.

Our second stop was the Lower (rhymes with "flower") Trail, between Altoona and Huntingdon. It's a nice, flat surface for bike riding, hiking, and horseback riding that runs for almost 17 miles along the Frankstown branch of the Juniata River. You may see a bicyclist on that trail in the shot above.

Our third stop was Greenwood Furnace State Park, where we spent many a happy hour swimming in summertime. The swimming area closed at the end of September and the foliage colors there are nearly done, but there were still some pretty views. (See a Greenwood Furnace reflection shot in the extra photos.)

Our fourth and final stop was Couch's in McAlevy's Fort, for dinner. My husband had the meat loaf dinner and I had a hot roast beef sandwich, curly fries, gravy, and cole slaw. (Here's a link to a blip that shows a summer view of Greenwood Furnace in the main shot and my favorite Couch's meal in the extras.) And then we headed home!

My soundtrack song is for the bicyclist in the photo above: Queen, with Bicycle Race.
