Mystery

No, not that one. We don't get many butterflies here, but the ones we do see are spectacular. They seem to particularly like the lantana bushes even though there are few flowers on them now. This one spent a good half hour grazing on it, giving me many photo opportunities.

So, I thought it must be a fritillary and hence easy to identify. But my extensive googling found none with these distinctive red spots. So please help me out here, lepidopterists -- what is it?

This evening was a double bill of cinema and intercambio. The film was Yesterday. Very different from the gloomy arthouse films we seem to watch most of the time. We really enjoyed it; a great feelgood movie with a predictable happy ending and good music of course. Spoilery bit: I loved the fact that they'd put John in it.

I've never seen so many people at the intercambio. There must have been over twenty of us, including a bunch of teachers recruited by Merce from the school she works at, so no shortage of Spanish speakers this time. It was very noisy and went on till 11:30. There's quite a contingent of French people now, so we got a bit of French in too. We are really spoilt for social events here.
