Norwich Big Boom

After a busy work day, I met up with Jon and H at 6pm who had caught the park and ride into the city. Norwich City Council put on a free firework display, from the Castle, but until today, we had never been.

Lots of roads are closed for the duration, and buses diverted. We found a small space between the crowds, in front of City Hall, looking out towards the castle. It was cold and a bit drizzly, but with only 30 minutes to wait, the compere was keeping spirits up, between songs.

At 7pm we watched the most amazing firework display, in perfect time to the music being played behind us. 15 minutes, but quite awesome, and very glad we had made the effort. I see it as part of efforts to embrace Norwich and Norfolk as our home. Whether we will be back next week for the Christmas lights switch on, I'm not sure.

We struggled back to the bus station and squeezed on the bus. Eventually choosing to drive home via Cromer where we picked up a Chinese. As always we had too much. Now I'm in bed, hoping to be up early for a run. I haven't run for over 2 weeks, so it will be a slow short one!!

Anyway, good show Norwich. We will be back for more 'Big Boom' firework shows!
