Remembrance Bouquet

Today has been a weird one. It started early - 6 AM! The ringing of the phone woke me up - we often get calls for a taxi company who have a very similar phone number to ours so I thought of that first.

No - it was my boss, Ahmed. He is having problems with his kidneys again, and is in the hospital, so we won't be opening the shop for a few days. I thought he didn't seem right last night, but he said he felt like he was having a bad reaction to a recent Flu jab.

I felt a bit at sixes and sevens most of the day, but I've been to town and the Post Office, bought a lovely jumper and took photos of the war memorial in town. I particularly liked this bouquet because, as well as poppies for remembrance, it features white lilies for peace.

I went up to the hospital to see Ahmed and he was very happy to see me. He said he wished he'd trained me or Amir to open the shop and couldn't understand why they wouldn't let him go out to get set up and then go back in! He's hoping they will let him out tomorrow, as they haven't done anything other than observations, but he was going off for a scan when I left and there's as much, if not more chance that they will ship him back to Leicester than let him out! They don't have any kidney specialists in Lincoln apparently!

So we'll see what tomorrow brings...
