The Edge of the Wold

Humphrey Head's Nose

You will be pleased to hear that contrary to the impression created by yesterday's blip, Wifie and Gus have not disappeared down a plug hole. Wifie is on her Tai Chi weekend, leaving me, Gus and Bob to our own devices during the day.

Gus and Bob are gradually edging nearer to each other when we are all in the kitchen, and there is frequent nose touching. Bob has taken to drinking from Gus's water bowl next to his basket, and this afternoon Gus gently stepped over Bob to reach his bed. I do hope that at some point they will be so fond and trusting of each other, that they will curl up together. There is something very touching about a friendship between a cat and a dog.

Later in the afternoon I took Gus on a new walk in the hope of seeing the sunset from Blackstone Point. The sun dropped out of the cloud just above the bridge of Humprey Head's nose. Not a spectacular light show, but there was enough red in the sky to reflect in layers across Morecambe Bay. The first Bay layer shot of 2013, there may be a few more as the year goes on, as the colours and layering are different every time.
