Bazaar

Today, with friends taking us, we visited the Bazaar Christmas shopping event in a 17thC barn adjacent to the Plough pub in Leigh, kent.

We had a lovely lunch in this old pub . Unfortunately I wasnt feeling too well so could not appreciate the food, and I felt very tired browsing the beautiful items on sale in the barn.

We have supported Bazaar at their twice yearly events at the Pilsdon Chapel, originally part of the old abbey in West Malling over the past few years. This is the first time we have visited Leigh, a very beautiful rural location near Hildenborogh. The autumn trees lining the lanes looked magnificent in their autumn colours.

Bazaar sells textiles and crafts, clothing and jewellery, all ethically traded from India and Nepal. The organiser is a local textile and fashion designer who has worked alongside crafts people in India - mainly Rajasthan - for more than 20 years.

Bazaar embraces rigorous Fairtrade principles and apart from supporting communities in India, she contributes to numerous charities in the UK and abroad. An inspirational woman.
