St Mary's Church, Birkin

It was a blip on the move today.  We set off mid morning to visit sister in law Mary and had an interminable journey, stopped at every red light and navigating a busy M62.  We were glad to arrive and have a cuppa and raid Mary's biscuit tin.

After a catch up, some tuition on her new tablet so that she can better see Euan and his Mum and Dad, and a look at the photos we took in Ireland earlier this year, it was time for off.  We were returning via the longer, but more enjoyable and prettier route, to Harewood and then Otley to do some food shopping.  We were ravenous by the time we reached the supermarket so decided to have sausage and kale mash before doing the trolley thing.

My blip was taken shortly after we left Mary's village and is of the Church where their parents are buried in the village of Birkin.  I jumped out, climbed on a stile, blipped and was back in the car.  Good job because the sun was setting when we left Otley.

Back home I did some much needed recorder practice in preparation for my lesson tomorrow and then steam cleaned the stair carpet and washed the wall.  Since we had the new gorgeous floor down, the top step has caused a few issues and Tony slipped whilst taking the tea tray downstairs.  Thankfully he was okay, but the wall now has a perfect circular dent in it where the teapot bounced off it!  All credit to Highland Stoneware, my wine glass shattered but the teapot and mugs were unscathed despite bouncing down the stairs!

We are awaiting an estimate for having the stairs done......
