Halo of Light

Morning washing, cleaning, tidying and strimming. You could tell exactly how many days I'd been away by the number of underpants and pairs of masculine socks on the line.

Then a most enjoyable afternoon and evening with our Dutch friends, Jan and Elisabeth, who've lived in the Alentejo for 32 years. They have an organic, grass-fed dairy farm, producing award winning Gouda cheese, which they've left us with big chunks of, both new and aged. We wanted them to walk round the Land with us, and talk about how we could best care for it.

Gratefuls:
- clear winter light
- Elisabeth's enthusiasm for the Land, she sees the beauty I see
- friends traveling over an hour to spend time with us, even though they are more than busy, and E in a lot of pain
