A CHRISTMAS BLIPMEET

A Blipmeet with lovely Blip friends is always special, but even more so at Christmas and today was no exception.

Pam (Turnx3) had messaged me some weeks ago to say she and her husband, Roger, would be in the UK for Christmas and New Year, so asked if it would be possible to meet up.  We had had an early Christmas present of a soup maker from Mum,  so I invited them for a simple lunch of soup and bread rolls.  However, it sort of snowballed and I invited Heidi, another Blip friend, too as we hadn’t seen her for a while.  We enjoyed Broccoli and Blue Cheese soup with various cheeses, ham, pickles and homemade coleslaw from a friend at Church followed by mince pies and stollen bites, then Christmas pudding with brandy sauce.  It was a good job we didn’t have too much to do afterwards, although perhaps a good walk might have helped to melt away some of the calories!

During the afternoon, Roger went to collect their daughter, Laura, from the Cotswold Water Park, which meant that we three blippers could chat together, and when they came back, more calories and drinks were consumed - all non-alcoholic - just a shame that the biscuits weren’t non-calorific!

We had a great time together, but it was soon time for Pam, Roger and Laura to leave on the next stage of their journey and Heidi also needed to leave for home.  Then, of course, we had to set to and wash up, because our new dishwasher hasn’t arrived yet.  However, Mr. HCB just happened to mention that his team was playing today and it was on TV, so I told him to go and watch and I would clear the kitchen - he’s so good in other ways, that I thought it was only fair.  It’s always a joy to meet up with other Blippers and hopefully it won’t be too long before we all meet again - I feel a song coming on.

Thank you again for all your kind comments, stars and hearts - and thank you, too, for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
