Branscombe Beach

No run today, so I walked to the beach in the sunshine and watched the early morning paddle boarders on a very calm sea.  It was then home to prepared a picnic and we headed to Lyme Regis, always a favourite destination.  Amazingly we managed to park in a car park we have never managed to get in before and had a wander around the town before a picnic in the park overlooking the bay.  The boys then had a post-lunch game of crazy golf while I read my book.

We continued our wandering, heading down to the harbour(extra) and out along The Cobb.  We then walked along the front to the rocky beach, where the boys did some fossil hunting.  BB found some huge ammonites in the rocks (extra).  We headed back to the car via the churchyard where Mary Anning is buried.

After a barbeque, TT took us on a walk, through the field and up the hill across from our holiday cottage, and then along the cliffs  to the beach (extra), before wandering back home.  A lovely day.
The blip shows Branscombe Beach first thing in the morning - looking west.
