Thanksgiving

Gail and I attended the funeral of one of our friends today, lost to cancer at only 44, her husband, daughter and parents were there.

Such a sad time, someone who was friendly, open, giving and kind. Trained as a nurse, she worked with the cubs & scouts, the guides, the church and many local organisations. The service was particularly moving. The minister read out her young daughters favourite memories of her Mum, the top one being tobogganing in the snow two Christmases ago. I don't think there was a dry eye in the 200+ congregation.

Todays jan challenge is "ready" - Although Helen knew she was dying, no-one expected it to be so quick; so no - maybe this is "not ready".

This photo is a combination of a landscape from Dunmail rise looking towards Grasmere taken this afternoon, and the church and words from the order of service.

So here - in memory of Helen, some snow to toboggan on.
