Christmas Cactus Flower

Christmas cacti always look so boring for most of the year I think, but when the flowers emerge at this time, they look stunning.

I went to Colin's this afternoon to take some shots. Because the shopping trolley failed on me as I was leaving, I didn't get to take my tripod and camera with macro lens, so the Fuji with a lensbaby velvet 50 had to do.

We looked up Christmas cactus on Google. The plant comes from Brazil and is often found as an epiphyte.
