An ordinary life....

Little Red Riding Hood...

No need to be awake early this morning so of course my eyes popped open just after 8am!

Bathroom guys should be back tomorrow at 8am and I will have to be up early and downstairs before they arrive, so I took advantage of this morning by lounging upstairs, catching up with friends and having a tidy up of my dressing table.

David took Lola to the moor.  It was pouring rain and they were both soaked when they returned.  Lola had her new ruff n tumble coat (pressie from Santa) to put on.  So snuggly.  Half and hour wearing that and she was bone dry.

After lunch David took the Christmas decs down in the kitchen.  It looks so bare!  The rest will have to wait till Saturday as he's playing golf tomorrow.

I spent a happy hour making birthday cards for friends who, like me, have January birthdays.  The only thing worse than Christmas birthdays :-)  I then spent a little while painting some abstract patterns on watercolour paper.  Hopefully I will be able to make something of it tomorrow when it's dry.

Dinner and a relaxing evening when we had a fun video chat with our friends L & S and their gorgeous girls.

We got the best new ever as after applying for citizenship (a journey that's taken 8 years) L will finally become one of us in a special ceremony a week on Friday.  We would loved to have accepted their invitation to attend the ceremony and the party afterwards, but it's the day before Ele's 60th birthday family lunch.  And as L&S live in Skye, the journey is just too far when we have to be back the very next day.  We will however, raise a glass to him and hopefully have another video call.

And so that's the festive season over for another year.  It's been a fun but hectic.  It will be good to get back to our normal routine.

Hope to catch up with you all and see what you've been up to.
