Gently down the stream

Bathing

Today I had the inestimable pleasure of watching a heron take a bath.  It's the first time I've seen him/her back in this part of the reserve - and available for blipping - since last winter.  I didn't realise they bathed in the way swans do.  It was a comic sight.  Two swan families were also there, a varity of smaller birds and a rather intimidating number of photographers with posh lenses.  A very beautiful morning!

This afternoon drifted by very peacefully (mostly at the computer) and I'm on supper-cooking duties tonight, so I'll probably do most of my commenting later.

Happy weekend, all  xx
