Bangkok day 3

A slow morning didn't wake fully till after 8. Another hot, sunny day with a lot of walking. Took the shuttle to the BTS station. Note to self: when the woman at the ticket office says take the train to National Stadium, take the train to National Stadium and don't get off 2 stops before. However, I did eventually make it to the Jim Thompson House. Interesting building and nice garden.

I then walked to the Way with the huge golden Buddha. Unfortunately it was shut for a ceremony, apparently the King was coming. On a positive side it was only a 10 minute walk back to the hotel.

A swim and some sun but due to the very tall Mandarin residences opposite the sun disappeared at 4 pm.

Then another as shuttle ride to visit a Wat near the BTS shaped like a boat. The monks were chanting in the Buddhist part. The sunset over the river was beautiful. The free shuttles are a boon here so I travelled on to Asiatique a shopping, eating and entertainment complex in old warehouses. Went on the wheel, bought a couple of things go the girls and ate, accompanied by BOGOF Chang beer. Then 2 more shuttles back.

Great being a tourist. Tomorrow I have to visit the lying Buddha I missed yesterday and the golden Buddha from today. More walking is planned.
