Between fen and mountains

This morning I went on the rainforest walk. The birds were difficult to spot in all the greenery but we did see a honey eagle, a sun bird, a racket tailed drongo and a crow pheasant. We also saw this beautiful butterfly the size of my hand. On the way back we passed the hives. I was surprised that the beekeeper was wearing no protective clothing as he handled the frames. In the afternoon I went for a swim and also paddled Mrs TT down the river. As we glided down very slowly we were able to get within five metres of the kingfisher that has been flashing across the water and see it properly.
