Take your seats

Back in the late 1980s the local authority had a sale of redundant school furniture. We bought two desks and chairs for a minimal sum and they did a turn with the children. The desks were pretty grotty really and scored/engraved by generations of primary school children. I'm not sure what happened to them but we no longer have them.

The chairs were in good condition though. Towards the end of the year we asked the guy who does some painting for us if he'd rub them down and paint them for the two younger grandchildren. It was a bigger job than anyone anticipated.

A couple of days ago he delivered them, all painted brightly in four coats of primary colours. I'm delighted with how they've turned out.

Such a beautiful sunny day. Would have been gorgeous had we got to Arran. But there again it's gorgeous here so making the most of it at home.
