Searching for a shot of brightness

I think these hellebores deserve a prize for brightening up the succession of dull days. They've been blooming by the front door since late November and there's a few more buds still to come.

The other photos show how the cloud came in. Berry and I were in Cardingmill Valley, watching coachloads of school children being organised for their day's field trip; it's a popular place for such things. At this point, the cloud was still higher than we were. I took a photo through the car windscreen about half an hour later just before doing a bit of shopping, when the cloud had dropped lower.

Home to rustle up more tempting fish and potatoes for young Berry (which was wolfed down - she is now ravenous!) and then out to the magic massage lady who has worked wonders.

No dog class for Berry tonight as there are too many tempting treats on offer (snuffle mats and dog puzzle games, all loaded with goodies that she adores!) so she's using her rediscovered energy to hunt down socks, chew a box of music put aside for LD, eat a smelly chew on my lap, hunt for crumbs under the table. Berry the bouncing bundle is back!
