STORMY SUNDAY

We were a little depleted at Church this morning, mainly because of the weather, I guess, but we still had a good service - some good songs and a great sermon.  We had decided before we went that we wouldn’t be going out to look for dereliction (or demolition as Mr. HCB said!!) as the weather was too bad, and just after we got home, the wind got up and the rain was of biblical proportions!

I decided that I would take a few shots of people at Church and hope they won’t mind appearing in my Blip for today - you already know Ngozi and Kosi, who were as gorgeous as ever today - and their Mum, Chi, is always happy for me to use their photographs, except I had to chase Ngozi round to get a good shot of her.  Today she was playing “hard to get” but I managed to get this one just before they left to walk home - just hope they got home before the torrential rain came - but no doubt they got blown along quite well.

Because we worship in a Community Centre, everything has to be set up before the service and then put away afterwards, which in one way is a pain, but in another way, it means people work together.  The other shots in my collage at the top are from left to right - Keith struggling against the high winds to get the banner in from outside, Matthew putting the PA bits and pieces into the box and David doing the wiping up after being on the refreshment rota for today.

The beauty of being in a small Church is that you tend to know everyone, so afterwards, there is always a hub-bub of conversation, which is great.

Hope you all stay safe and have a good week - looking at the weather app, it looks as if it will gradually get better during the week and the nights are definitely drawing out - but it’s now raining hard again, so we’re glad we have a warm and water-tight home.
