Sapo

I sleep so well in the field! Forest noises are soothing and the humid air is just warm enough to hug you but cool enough to sleep under a sheet. I was up early and went for a little walk in the forest to start the day. After a warm welcome and blessing from the community it was a full day of learning from the team. I learnt so much from the rangers to the biomonitoring and protected area advisors to the project manager and have respect for everything that they have done over the years despite the challenges in this landscape. Sapo is a large remaining piece of intact rain forest teeming with monkeys, chimps, pygmy hippo and elephant, not to mention the elusive zebra duiker. Tomorrow we head to the forest for a night to see some of the transects and experience a night in the rainforest.
