A Fascinating Piece of Frippery

Despite my seeming intransigence on the subject of wedding hats, I have been seduced into purchasing this bit of fascinating frippery to add a little decoration to my bonce in the event of a bad hair day. And so I am finally totally equipped , save for the lace hankie impregnated with a little cologne for good effect. Of course if late March throws up wintry weather with snow drifts in the Borders, then all this assemblage will go for a Burton and wellies and an anorak might be more sensible.

The weather continues to impress with frequent horizontal sleet showers out of leaden skies blasting us vulnerable mortals. It’s even been blamed for closing the new Queensferry Crossing over the Forth causing untold misery for commuters. Like everything else, the mantra must be, ‘this too shall pass’.
