Beautiful young leopard

#2 daughter is 45 today.

We were out at 6 to look at a water hole where we were told there were rhino so we didn’t need to go on game drive to see them, but we only saw a few hippo in the distance. And we watched a red headed weaver pecking at itself in a car mirror.

Heading for border where the exit stamp said Eswantini, Swaziland’s new name. Our entry stamp said Swaziland!) Mananga and in Kruger for 2 nights. Hilly wooded countryside. Heavy rain. Malalane to Pretoriuskop.

Much excitement - we were only 3 minutes into the Kruger park when we spotted a leopard by a tree. It was thought to be very young, about 18-24 months. It is Unusual for so young a leopard to be by itself. We Spent a while watching this beautiful creature.

On the 2 hour drive to our lodge we also saw

Hyena 3 lots
Elephant and baby
Zebras - a large group
Wildebeest
Warthog
Giraffe 2 lots one with horn broken and falling over face
Klipspringer 2 on rocks
Impala various
Plus birds -
Southern yellow hornbill
Comb duck or knob billed duck
Marabou stork
Woodland Kingfisher
Cape glossy starling
Grey Go away bird
Red winged starling
Laughing dove

Reached camp around 5 and got to our rondaval which has electricity and a fridge. It’s a really nice place and we’ve had a great start to our time in the Kruger
