Life's Little Moments

Feline Flat Lay

Not feeling terribly inspired today until I realized that Charlie would make a great flat-lay subject.   One of his favorite beds is by the kitchen window on a little bench, and he can frequently be found curled into a ginger tabby ball in the sun.  From there, it was an easy thing to (carefully) stand on a chair directly over him and shoot down.  Then, not being able to leave well enough alone, I ran the image through Silver Efex to render it in black and white.  Lots of contrast in this so his
'tabbiness'' shows to good advantage.  All a bit of silly fun.

If you'd like to read a short article on flat lay photography, you might find this interesting.

Hubs and I went to the gym and then, after showers, treated ourselves to a trip to Starbucks.  Nice to be out and about on this cold day.  Tonight, we are meeting friends for dinner for Thai food.  They are always great fun to spend time with and I predict we'll have some lively conversation around politics.  We share the same political leanings which makes those conversations fun rather than crazy.

Tom  and the Girls (wild turkeys) have been on the patio quite a bit of the day, foraging for spilled seeds and taking advantage of the fresh water in the ground-level bird bath.  When it's cold like this, there isn't really any availability of water for them in the woods, so I'm glad I can provide this for them.

The Democratic Debate last night was lively, to say the least.  Poor Bloomberg took a beating from the other candidates which I think shows that they all see him as a threat.  That said, he seemed ill-prepared for the attacks and at times appeared like a deer in headlights.  Be interesting to see how he handles himself next week.  Meanwhile, most of the other candidates all appear to be in this to win it.

Interesting times...

Fitness notes:  42 minutes on the elliptical today for a total of 6 miles.  Good cardio as I was able to keep my heart rate in the 130's for almost the entire time.
