Early Morning Sledging

Snowday for both kids, so early sledging for us. However not as early as my run, which was before sunrise and although hard work in the deep snow, it was good fun. The fields were beautiful and very quiet, but I am not sure whether I'll manage to get out tomorrow as the pavements to get there were a tad slippy already.

So we sledged and they agreed to go down together and hit the ramp we made yesterday and the squeals could be heard for miles around. I knew we were early because there was no one else out on the slope. after a while we came in and Mummy made a snowdog which made W smile rather than Daddy's attempt yesterday that looked like a rabbit and made W cry! They the best bit was I came in and left them playing nicely, together in the garden, for a couple of hours!

After lunch we finished the thank you's well and truely and then they played for a bit in the playroom. We did some craft and made some animals with cardboard, paint that didn't like to be washed off skin, glue, sparkles and glitter.

Out sledging again before tea and then a big tea and bed. Great snow day. Back to normal tomorrow. Dreading the school run as the road off the estate really looks like an icerink, so the hill we walk up and the railway bridge on the way to school are likely to be solid ice. We may need crampons!
