Wanderings & Witterings

Summerford

After the trials and tribulations in the planning, Tuesday's Ramblers walk turned out to be a very pleasant affair. The sun even shone (well, most of the time at any rate).

Our route, not the one advertised in the programme, took us through Camelon and onto the Forth and Clyde Canal. At the Falkirk Wheel, we walked up onto the Union Canal and followed that as far as Summerford (pictured) where we followed the path down onto the road that led us back to the Forth and Clyde Canal at the Union Inn, the former junction of the two canals. Another short stretch of that to the site of the former (and perhaps soon to be again) Rosebank Distillery and back to the start.

We had a good turn-out too, twenty-eight Ramblers, and I am just relieved that all went well.
