A view from Jeanneb

Roots

A frosty start and then a very springlike morning.
We took a walk up the Goit alongside Harden Beck to see the effects of recent heavy rain. Much abated now of course but you could see where the inundation had been and much of the  path has been washed clean.
Wasn’t really intending a shot of the ubiquitous waterfall but I loved how the roots of the tree bedside this rock have made their way across it. Thought it was a good example of nature at work for the Wide Wednesday challenge. (See the tree and rock in the extra)
We continued on to Hallas Bridge and then up to Bents Lane to walk back to the village avoiding the waterlogged fields. I spent all of my childhood in this area with friends living at Hallas Bridge. I remember the working mill, now holiday let’s and apartments. They made shoddy and we used to run through it passing the open doors where fluff and the frighteningly noisy machinery could be heard.
We then stopped off at Stephen Smith’s for a coffee before returning home.

A pleasant morning out.
